First timer! Here for the dim sum :) dim was fresh and good. They didn't have many options for the dim sum which was understandable since I came late. This place has potential to grow. I noticed the staff may need a little bit more training. Things seem pretty unorganized. They didn't have boba tea which was a bummer. The prices here are a little more expensive then DJ restaurant. I will come back only when I'm in the area.

Really good dim sum. We didn't think they had this in the area, but apparently they are a new restaurant so they are probably one of the only dim sum places around. Still very good food, but I can only compare it to places back in Chicago. Very good....I will go back.

I am from Taiwan and lived in NJ for a long time so I am pretty close to all the good Chinese restaurants in Chinatown NYC, I have to say, I haven't tasted anything this close to Chinatown food in a very long time since I haven't been back up north in a while. The roast duck is the best and I also love their sizzling plates. Salt and pepper tofu is really good, I haven't had anything that's disappointing form ginger yet. Love this place

Saw this new place and had to give it a test run. Glad we stopped. They have a decent dim sum menu from 11-3pm. After that they have a combo dim sum in their appetizer menu. Tried it. Was great. Also got a pound of crispy pork belly!! It was outstanding!! Ask for kelly for a server she was fabulous!! Will be coming back.

I came for lunch several times, during the "tourist" season, the food was awesome and the service was Great!!!! Off season that's another story. The food came out like a jigsaw puzzle, some rice then 20 minutes later the entree I had to get up twice to get the waitress for our drinks. To top it off I became sick later that night. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!!

I recently bought a barbeque island @ Extreme Backyard Designs in Ontario, ca. my husband is a building inspector & had a million technical questions. James answered all the questions. I love the island.. & am looking forward to many years of using it.

This is an update to my previous review, we came back for lunch today, as promised... OK, the lunch dim sum is GREAT!!! Servers were also very nice. We are so glad someone opened a place in Fort Myers that does this kind of dim sum -- large variety and the traditional little bamboo steamer stacked baskets with lids that keep everything warm... so if you are a slow eater, don't let them take your lids away upon serving. And as a nice southerly touch, they serve sweet tea :-) Absolute faves in dumplings are the shrimp, shrimp spinach, chive, and mixed vegetable pork, which looked like a Portuguese Man of War (no tentacles, although you could do those easily with bean thread...!) and tasted wonderful. Pork shumai were better than the beef shumai in our opinions, and in bao, the pan fried pork bun had a kind of sweet bean paste filling in with the pork that made the whole thing great as a meal-ender. Along with some crispy slender fried shrimp rolls (my husband tried the steamed rice roll w/ cilantro, they were good but by nature very floppy), we were totally full and charmed by the time we left. Tables full of people speaking Chinese gave the "official" stamp of approval to this new venture. Hong Kong is famous for its food, and many of the main menu items are HK-style, so it's clear the owners have an interesting story to tell, and high standards to uphold -- I'm looking forward to the first interviews in our local media!

Wanted to try something new for Mother's Day and didn't feel like driving down to one of the larger malls for oriental style food. Red about this place and decided to give it a try. The aging strip mall where it is located is not very enticing. We were seated right away around 3PM when the lunch crowd was finishing. Ordered more than we needed, partly because I wanted to try some things. Won ton soup was good, but for some reason our initial server only brought us one serving. After that got fixed, our 3 main dishes: sweet & sour chicken, house fried rice, and Mongolian beef came at three different times and required us to inquire about their status. Do not understand why all 3 were not served at the same time. That aside, the food was ample and quite good. Our Oolong tea was hot and satisfying. The cost was in line with place like PF Chang's. We will be back and if we have company will bring them along. There are larger tables for 6 or more.

Best Dim Sum in Fort Myers, hands down!! Fresh and made to order! Very flavorful :) and super friendly staff!

Fresh food. Good service. Decent prices. Been there twice and we love it. Our personal favorite is the Chicken lettuce wrap an the Bistro fried rice. Atmosphere is quiet and very relaxing. Please give the place a try. We need more places like this in Ft. Myers.

Authentic Cantonese is hard to come by in FtM & I'm very happy to have found this place! Food was legit & prices is fair. I will be back to try their dim sum. For starter we had the jellyfish. OMG you have now idea how happy I am!! The salt & pepper calamari was good. The roti from the roti canai was on point but not feeling the curry (too much coconut cream). We got the HK roast duck which was season perfectly, it's greasy (it's suppose to be) but not fatty (when the drying is not done correctly). The crispy pork belly was also good but just a little too salty for me. The snow pea tips & crispy noodles was also very good. All in all great experience. I also enjoyed that the food comes when it's ready, it doesn't sit under heat lamp, waiting for other stuff to be ready & expedited. To my heart is through my stomach, this place got my gut

The food is really fresh. Service is fast. I had the Orange check lunch special and man, best Asian/Chinese type food in town. Dim sum is to die for. I hope this place lasts. I order a pick once and it was way good. You need to at least try this place once.

Great food and service. Authentic cuisine. Their food wasn't swimming in soy or sweet sauce. Coming back to try their dim sum lunch!

We went back again to give this place another chance. Previously the service had been deplorable and the food merely so-so. I'm delighted to report that things have improved. The service was considerably better, although far from top notch. The food was delivered to us sporadically and the waitress had to be summoned, but aside from that all was well. I had the Shanghai Dumplings (a/k/a Pork Soup Bun - A9). They were okay but the wrappers were too thick and the dumplings were not as juicy as the previous time. Go figure. I also had the Seafood Crispy Noodle dish (R20), one of my favorites and it was very good. Overall, a much better experience this time.

We've finally found a great place for Cantonese & dim sum. All entrees were good, cooked fresh to order. They were very accommodating with special orders (our son requested only broccoli and mushrooms in place of the regular veggies in his kung pow chicken). We had several of the appetizers, as well, all very good! The décor is more modern than most Asian type restaurants and seemed very clean. I have several photos I will post on their website.

This was great. They serve dim sum til 3pm, with a picture menu that's pretty descriptive. However, getting there right before 3, we opted for the menu. Husband had the squid and sour cabbage pan fried noodle, I had the H.K. style pan fried crispy noodle. They serve family style, so mine came out first and we dug in. ... so tasty. I do feel like it could have more depth, i.e. more veggies or a protein, but it had good flavor. Husband's came out, and I shied away, I'm definitely not a squid person...but he loved it. I tried the sour cabbage and thought it was really good. ..I was afraid it'd be fishy because of the squid, but it wasn't! He said the squid was cooked perfectly, not rubbery, and not fishy. ... so reluctantly I tried a bite, and I have to admit it was not bad at all! We're definitely looking forward to going back

No go. Do not go. No go. Do not go. Food 1 star, Atmosphere 2 stars, Service 3.5 stars. I feel bad for whoever designed the center island piece. If Cantonese food is supposed to ALL be spicy, this is a good option. Scallion pancake was a tasteless grease bomb. Duck soup broth tasted like cardboard and the duck was super bony (although I will concede the duck is supposed to be bony). If you love pho and think you might like ginger bistro noodle soup, think again. (Yes, I realize Vietnam, HK, China, and Cantonese are all different.). Papaya salad was too spicy. I went for dinner and begged my dining partner to leave. I've been told by a friend Ginger Bistro is good for lunch. Ok. Maybe. If I bring my own club soda. FMFL.

Here is my 2 cents. Lets start with the sweet and sour soup. MMM good not as sour as in SF but it is right up there. I thought I was in The City minus the fog. I had seafood and basil with jasime rice. It may seem all rice is same its not, Jasime is more flavorable more delicate. This dish is wonderful. Plus I had the dim sum platter. The most bang for your buck for your dim sum. Unless you are a veteran of dim sum try this. Buy ala carte can get pricey like sushi. Over all it s excellent. Now chit chat. It is in a nondescript mall. The interior is very nice. My server Tapferer(?) did a great job. One hiccup was the owner brought me my entree before my appetizer. No big deal it is all going in same place just a different order. It was all hot all good. Another observation was it is more expensive than eating in Chinatown, San Francisco. Prices are 3-4 dollar more per dish. But its really good food and no competition.. Beside flying to SF or NY for chinese meal is a bit crazy. I did miss the ambiance of cobble stones, crazy old chinese ladies and nick knack shops. So for a good time of food and frolic stop on in..

This place far out shines its location and the strip mall it happens to be located in. For starters the decor is such a welcome departure from the almost a typical Asian restaurant while still paying homage to the cultural genre. Our food came almost instantaneously and was nice and hot! It was paced perfectly between both each appetizer and the main courses. Everything was fresh and appeared prepared from scratch. The Jellyfish salad and salt & pepper Calamari was to die for. I can't even begin to articulate how amazing the Peking Duck and Crispy fried Pork were. I'll be back as often as possible. And why not ........ They have Dim Sum and the best Asian cuisine I have ever had outside of Boston or New York. It doesn't matter where in town you are; this place is worth the trip!!!!! Maybe next time I'll make it to dessert!

Good fresh fried pot stickers. Was craving a good Asian style noodle bowl/soup but was sorely dissapointed. Came out with barely warm broth that had to be sent back to be reheated and returned barely a tad warmer. Noodles were a sticky mass at bottom of bowl due to lack of heat in broth to fully cook the noodles. Broth needs major work on flavor depth, pretty much flavorless. Won't be ordering noodle soup again. Waitress was attentive and friendly.

We moved to SW Fl from Dallas, TX about three months ago. You can only imagine the culture shock my palate has experienced, especially in the Asian food department! While shopping at the Leaf Asian Market, the owner told me about their restaurant just up the street, soooo glad he did!! I ordered a few items from the dim sum menu and my husband ordered stir fry from the lunch menu. It was hands down the BEST Asian food we've had since moving here!! I gave my husband a hard time for being basic and ordering stir fry, but to my surprise, it was wonderful!! The dim sum menu wasn't as vast as places in Dallas, but it was still yummy! This place is a 40 minute drive for us, and worth every minute!!

Went for dim sum but that's only during the lunch afternoon. That's what we wanted to try. We have another place where dim sum is good but not amazing. Our other place is much better food wise but atmosphere not as upscale as here. Going back to try the dim sum otherwise will stick to our regular place for food so much better.

Ginger Bistro is a hidden gem... Honestly it's finally great to have an authentic Chinese restaurant in Fort Myers. This place second to none!

Go here for the dim sum! Everything tastes fresh and delicious! If you can't make it there for lunch, their dinners are also fabulous. The first time I went, I had seafood pad Thai. There was so much that I had to take the leftovers home and made three more meals out of it. I went another time with some friends for dim sum. The portions aware perfect for sharing and the staff is very helpful in answering my questions and making recommendations when I asked. I can't wait to go back!

Everything fried is overcooked. shrimp dry and calamari chewy. Had their noodle soup. Wish I knew to stir it up real good because the first 3/4 was bland, until I found some flavor at the bottom. Didn't like how all the pieces were so big and hard to eat being in a soup. We went there for lunch. Service was great. We would rather go back to Tail Sushi Too down in Bonito Springs.

Finally!! It's been a long wait for us living in ft. Myers / cape coral area for a chinese restaurant like this. They're a breath of fresh air.. Fresh, diverse menu, beautiful decor, friendly staff, and most importantly, delicious food through and through. It is a little pricey, dim sum portions leave a lot to be desired, although all 8 items that we ordered were delicious and tasted fresh, not frozen. The bbq duck & pork were savory, very juicy and tender. The fried rice and chow fun with XO sauce were just heavenly, measuring up to the famed chinese bistro chain up in Sarasota / Tampa area, Yummy House. We definitely wont need to make our monthly trips to sarasota just to eat some good, authentic chinese food anymore.. Thank you Ginger Bistro! We'll be your regular patrons for foreseeable future..

Four and half Stars! My wife and I decided to try this new establishment today. It is opened only for 3 weeks. As we walk in, we were greeted by friendly staff. We ordered two dishes, Walnut Shrimp and XO Sauce/Chive flower with beef. First the Walnut Shrimp, the shrimp was lightly coated with a light batter just enough sauce. The walnut was deep fried and glazed. To top it off, it sits on top of broccoli and top it off with a little sesame seed. My wife loves the shrimp! The chive flower is stir fried with green pepper strip and XO sauce. The beef is on the well done side but I like my beef on the medium rare side. This disk is served with a good aroma and tasty with the exception the beef is on well done side. Next time, I will tell the chef to have the beef on medium rare! We will be back with a few friends to try other dishes such as Eight Treasure Clay pot, Short rib with Black Pepper Sauce, Fish Maw soup, BBQ pork, Roast duck, etc. With attentive servers, we'll try the Dim Sum for lunch as well. This place has the potential to be a five stars restaurant!

Well you would never know this restaurant exist unless you drove through the center. I am certain this is our new favorite sit down Chinese. The inside very modern-day decorated. Definitely does not match the outside. The food was very fresh and perfectly cooked. No soupy meals, son and steamed dumplings, I had eggrolls, both perfect. Meals were Kung Poa Shrimp, extra spicy and it was, wife had Orange Chic, son had Chic n Blackbean. Meals pretty large portion. Wife and son could have split. Pricing quite frankly very reasonable. Ordering hot tea was a little confusing, they like raddling off pricing on stuff, a turn off for me but can understand that others might be concerned about same. Service was between a 4 and 5, she was nice, maybe not too experienced and a little chatty. If you are looking for sit down traditional chinese, this is the place. We have been PF Changs fans due to lack of good chinese in Ft Myers but can tell you this is better and not likely we will take that drive anymore.

I have to say the food was decent. But the service was lacking- most of the items we wanted on their dim sum menu were not available. After we ordered what was available- nothing too special- one of their noodle soups, took 45 minutes. No apologies, no one seemed to notice when clearly the manager was present. The wait staff was clearly brand new to the business and did not know how to go about getting orders and communicating to the kitchen and to the customers. Not worth my second visit.

Stopped by here after seeing menus at Leaf Asian Market (both are owned by the same). It is very clean inside, not decorated like your typical chinese restaurant. Service was friendly and accommodating. Food was only so-so except for the dim sum. The dim sum was good all around but the dishes you order off the menu are lacking in portion and flavor. Stop here if you plan on sticking strictly to dim sum but DJ if you plan on ordering from the menu.

Excellent Chinese food. So many steps above other Chinese restaurants it isn't even close. We had BBQ duck and ribs. In addition, we had beef lo mien. The best was the dim sum platter as others have stated. As good as any dim sum restaurant in San Francisco. Prices are a little higher, but the food quality is far superior. Don't wait go try this place. You won't be disappointed.

First time to this new restaurant. Food is authentic, tasty, and freshly prepared. Not much decoration but clean and attractive. Service was fine, still finding its footing for a new place. Compared to places in northeast, has real potential. Recommend trying it, far superior to all the crummy take out places, and one of the few sit down Chinese places around.

It's my first time coming here for dim sum. There's not really much of a selection in fort Myers, and none of them quite stand out to me. The first time I came to this place, the service was really good. The server was very knowledgable with the dim sum items. They all came in fresh, and delicious. My favorite dish is the roast pork puff pastry and egg tart. Make sure to order that when you go. The beef shui Mai is not impressive, tasted kinda starchy and doesn't have a lot of flavor to it. I would not recommend that. But overall, the food was great and a nice environment!

I have high hope for this Chinese restaurant. We went for Dim Sum which my wife and I agree was not the best compared to Dim Sum restaurants in New York, San Francisco Bay area, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, or even a few in Tampa or Orlando. We tried the Har Kow, Pork Sui Mei, Lotus wrapped sticky sweet rice, fried taro root dumpling, and Singapore noodles. Everything was fresh, the pork sui mei and Singapore noodles were very good and the rest was passable. A very good attempt at authentic Chinese food. We will return and try the roast duck, pork maws and dinner offerings next time. Dim Sum offerings are 3.95 to 4.95. The pot of Chrysanthemum tea was 6.95 (very pricey). Dim Sum places usually charge 1.00 to 2.00 per person for tea. Service was excellent, server even spoke Cantonese and I ordered in Brooklyn accented Cantonese. Overall, good but not great. Very pricey for dim sum lunch, check was$50 for 2. Will try dinner next time. I usually write my reviews on Tripadvisor since I was a roadwarrior.

The place is new so there are still kinks that need to be worked out. They did not have boba tea when we went. At all. Zero. They ran out of a lot of the dim sum items. Which is understandable because we came around 2:30 And it ends at 3pm... The items on the menu are EXPENSIVE compared to other places. We ordered dim sum "egg roll" and it was 2 small pieces for $3.95, it was too expensive for what you get. It was a veggie egg roll with nothing special inside. We got pad Thai and it was a good portion and delicious. Price fair. But for dim sum, I think I will go back to DJ restaurant. The prices seem better for what you get.

Best Chinese food in lee county! I have been looking for a place for years that has crispy bbq pork belly. The short ribs are out of this universe. If you are looking for real authentic Chinese food, this is the joint.

Amazing! We found Ginger Bistro through Yelp as we came back from the lake. The place is amazing. The food to die for. Very upscale Asian food. The HK Duck was the best I ever had and the crown dish was the thin bread appetizer with chicken dipping sauce (mako??). It was heavenly. My wife really liked the snow pea tips, similar to watercress but sweeter. Love this place!

Yes, yes, YES! Finally, there's a good Chinese place in SW FL. Gf and I went there for dim sum yesterday, and we were both very pleased. What we had: Stuffed eggplant: stuffed with ground shrimp, lightly pan fried, and covered in a delicious black bean sauce. Steamed rice noodle, stuffed with shrimp: It's a simple dish, and theirs was quite good. Korean style seafood pancake: a light rice-based batter filled with shrimp and scallions, pan-cooked to a crispy finish. It was really good. Not quite like haemul pajeon, but good nonetheless. Sticky rice: Always a must for dim sum. Filled with pieces of chicken and a couple Chinese sausage slices. Tasty. Braised spare ribs: This was one of the best I've had. It consists of small chunks of ribs sliced across the bones, simmered in a savory sauce. There was plenty of meat, which is often a failing in this dish at other places. The best part was how it was sitting atop some diced taro, so there weren't pieces over-soaking in sauce. The dim sum is made to order, so no carts. It all came out pretty quickly, and tasted fresh. The regular menu looks pretty excellent, and I am looking forward to going backk.

First, let me tell you who we are; the host is a Chinese couple from Chicago and the two guest couples are also from Chicago. We all live in Estero and Bonita Spring. Second, the food is superb for this area though they may be competing head to head with the newly change over restaurant in the Bell Tower. I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 for the following kinks. -We had 3 appetizers; fried dumplings, salt and pepper calamari, and chicken lettuce wrap. All were excellent. One flaw; as always, the fillings for the lettuce wrap always out weigh the lettuce cups; so we asked for more. Unlike California Pizza or P. F. Chang, Ginger Bistro needed $1.00 for each two extra lettuce cups. OK, we order extras. -Than after dinner, one guest asked for tea. They brought 1 pot and 1 cup. When asked for an extra cup we were told that that they will charge for an extra tea, just for a cup. So we'll see if food can beat pettiness. At the end, waitress lost; 15% in lieu of our usual 20%.

I consider myself an expert in consuming Asian food. Ginger Bistro prepares the best versions of traditional Chinese restaurant dishes I have ever have. In addition, the restaurant is pristinely clean and beautifully decorated.

Good food. Horrible service. If you go you will see. Food comes in sessions. When you order a meal for example; if you order garlic shrimp and rice. You may get rice and the you will get the shrimp or in reverse. There is a young lady that it's not oriental ( I did not get her name) it was awful. I told her that we had a question about the menu and she said that she did not have time to answer any questions. Good luck.

We have been looking for a good Chinese restaurant since we moved here 3 years ago. This is it! Had fried tofu, hot sour soup, crispy noodles and lo mein. All were good. Next trip we try the duck and the crispy pork belly we saw hanging in the oven. Also the dim sum looks like a winner.

Since moving to Fort Myers from Brooklyn 19 years ago, we have desperately missed the kind of authentic, fresh food we ate on 8th Ave in Brooklyn, Flushing in Queens, and Manhattan's Chinatown. Finally, FINALLY, our wish has been granted. Ginger Bistro is the real thing everybody - especially the dim sum. All of these were fresh, as good as anything on Mott Street: Shrimp watercress dumpling; Chives dumpling (a tiny masterpiece), Steamed ginger soup bun (very very close to my beloved soup dumplings at Joe's Shanghai), Pan fried pork bun with vegetable. We also had a platter with 1/2 pound each of Roast pork belly - excellent -- and Roast duck, which had that thin crispy skin that is the stuff of dreams. But the crowning glory was a dish of Sautéed snow pea tips, the likes of which I haven't had since the legendary Phoenix Gardens in the Bowery arcade closed. Heaven. Heaven. That is my Holy Grail of Chinese food, and it is next to impossible to find outside of a real Chinatown. Next time we'll try the Sautéed watercress, Steamed rice roll, Braised chicken feet, and amazing looking soups. Hot Tea and Passion fruit ginger ale were perfect accompaniments.
